Songs
"yeah yeah yeah" - "I am feeling supersonic": In his latest series of drawings "Partituren (Songs)", Luigi Archetti (*1955) takes us into the artistic world of visual art and music with quotes from rock songs. As a draughtsman, guitarist, performer and composer, Luigi Archetti is a convincing jack-of-all-trades. He performs as an artist as well as a rock and experimental musician with projects worldwide. The akku art platform is dedicating a solo exhibition to the artist, who comes from Brescia (I) and lives in Zurich.
In installative settings, Luigi Archetti creates aesthetic spaces of tension and makes the interface between music and art tangible to the senses. For the "Songs" exhibition, he designs the space simultaneously as an image carrier and sound body, with visual and sonic impulses coming together atmospherically. Luigi Archetti's art challenges our established ideas of perception. It invites us to transcend the boundaries of seeing and hearing and to experience the world anew in the simultaneity of image and sound.
Music and art, sound and image, eye and ear
Luigi Archetti's art literally works "with eyes and ears". The artist constantly and skilfully interweaves image and sound as two artistic disciplines. Painting, drawing, print, installation, object and video complement each other, creating a fascinating back and forth between the visual and sonorous worlds.
Luigi Archetti is not interested in synaesthetic programming, but in the simultaneity of sound and visuals and the idea of space as a body of experience and resonance. Archetti's art always revolves around the question of the imagery of sound on the one hand and the sound of visual media on the other - and results in an attempt to make this tangible for the audience.
